Some of the expectations I had going in haven't been met. Not sure what I think of it yet since it hasn't yet been fully implemented, though the numerous announcements and emails about the training have been chaotic and overwhelming. Though I am relatively still new to FS (only two months in) the company appears to be experiencing a lot of changes such as discontinuing the company wide Slack channel that was very convenient and adopting a new system for documentation which oddly seems very geared toward medical practices rather than psychotherapy. Typical work day involves signing onto your computer (company issued, which is nice) and checking email, looking at your appointments for the day. You’ll also have a lot of autonomy - more.

The plus is you’ll have clients at the ready - as long as the agency’s tanking professional reputation doesn’t crossover to their public image. Noteworthy, this agency is desperately seeking new therapists as both old and new are quickly realizing the sales pitch of value-oriented-client-care simply doesn’t line up once you’re in the system, and the therapists are leaving very quickly. This agency will likely collapse from the inside as it stumbles to correct itself by creating an isolating and harsh environment for therapists. The agency has simply set a model that to heavily taxes it’s foundation systems, and then refuses to re-evaluate some of its approaches to fix the cracks in its foundation. This is not to fault the leads, rather it is meant to highlight how the agency no longer places value on supporting growth of clinicians through mutual collaboration, consultation, and both supporting and nurturing therapist strengths. Meetings with Clinical lead (one hour a month) are paid but extremely difficult to schedule: the leads will tell you they need to prioritize their own client caseload and so you are forced to scramble to get an open spot before it closes OR forced to cancel your own client session in order to meet with clinical lead - definitely goes against ‘prioritizing’ client care and only further highlights how therapist time is not valued. The EHR is difficult and not therapist friendly. Everything promised at the job offer has left. Trying to keep up with the constant changes is like trying to shovel your way out of quick sand. You can find better pay and a more supportive environment elsewhere.

The regional managers are only concerned about the therapists numbers. The pay is low and about to get lower as they switch to a salary based system. Now its like trying to run your own private practice but you have to follow the company rules. There have now been 3 rounds of layoffs, mostly support staff. This allowed the company to stay in business, but it was not business as usual. A new CEO was brought in as well as an influx of money. Then in June 2022, it was revealed that the founders of the company had expanded to fast and the company was bleeding $3 million a month. The management was positive and supportive of the clinicians and operations staff. The management and staff were on the same page. A year ago, this would have been a completely different response.
